Jordans Quaker Centre is in the peaceful village of Jordans, in Buckinghamshire, England. It’s in the heart of the Chilterns, just a short drive from London and easily accessible by train or car.

🕰️ What are the opening hours?

The Centre is generally open Monday to Saturday during daytime hours. Visiting the historic Jordans Meeting House or arranging events may require a booking — please contact us in advance.

🏡 Can I hire the venue for meetings or retreats?

Yes! We offer rooms for hire for meetings, workshops, retreats, and educational events. The facilities include modern meeting spaces in a tranquil countryside setting, with accommodation options available next door at Jordans Youth Hostel.

🛌 Do you offer overnight stays?

Jordans Quaker Centre does not offer accommodation, but this is available next door at Jordans Youth Hostel.

📖 What is the history of Jordans Meeting House?

The Meeting House was built in 1688, one of the earliest Quaker buildings after the Declaration of Indulgence. It’s also the burial place of William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania. Guided tours and school visits can be arranged.

🌸 Is Jordans Quaker Centre open to non-Quakers?

Absolutely. While the Centre is rooted in Quaker values of peace, simplicity, and reflection, we welcome people of all faiths and backgrounds. Meeting for worship is held every Sunday at 10:30am and visitors are always welcome.

You can send an enquiry via email. We'll help you plan your visit, room hire, or retreat.

🏡 Can I visit the Historic Meeting House?

Yes, visitors are welcomed between 2pm - 5pm, from 1st April - 31st October. Visits outside of these times can be arranged via email. 

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Is it suitable for group visits or school trips?

Yes, we welcome schools, universities, and historical interest groups. The Meeting House is a valuable educational site, and we can tailor your visit with talks and guided tours. Please email us to book visits.

▪️ Can I visit William Penn's grave?

William Penn's grave can be found in the old burial ground at Jordans Meeting House.

▪️ Is there access to Old Jordans Farm and the Mayflower barn?

No, Old Jordans Farm is privately owned and not part of Jordans Quaker Centre.

🚗 Is there parking available?

Yes, free parking is available on-site for visitors and event attendees. Please note, that parking is limited and must be arranged beforehand.

💻 Do you have Wi-Fi and modern facilities?

Yes, our meeting rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, projectors, and other modern amenities, while still preserving the peace and character of the countryside setting.
